Page 115...
On the previous page, the Zora that saved Mario called on someone named Darwin to take care of the Boss Bass. If any of you guessed that Darwin was a Goron, then congratulations. Darwin is my third Zelda OC that I have (and the final Zelda OC that will be featured in this comic). And folks... I gotta tell ya... you do NOT wanna get punched by a Goron. We won't be seeing Boss Bass for a while.
Now there's a perfectly good explanation for my OCs. The Link that stars in this comic is not from a Zelda game in particular. He's actually just a generic Link that could be seen in any Zelda game. In a lot of Zelda games, Link's companions vary, so if I was going to have a different Link, I needed a different companion... and that's where Lucia comes in. Also, the members of the Goron and Zora tribes are not the same in every Zelda game. So with a different Link comes different members of the two tribes. That means I didn't want to use characters like Darunia, Darmani, or Darbus... I made up my own Goron patriarch and called him Darwin. Get it? "Dar"win? It flows so well with the other big-named Gorons. Now that should give some further clues about who this Zora fellow is. All well-known members of the Zora tribe were royalty, but I didn't want to use Ruto, Rutela, or Ralis as the Zora to be featured in this comic. So I came up with my own Zora as well.
Darunia and Princess Ruto did make a cameo appearance in Part 1 of this comic... Page 31... but let's just say these OCs are my schemes just to get more involved with the Goron and Zora tribes from the Zelda series. I hope you enjoy.

I misread "Darwin" as "Darunia" at first, but I never thought he'd be a goron...
